Function
The Network Security Engineer will work on designing, implementing, coordinating and maintaining the AAC global network and perimeter security infrastructure across all levels.
Apart from the technical work in implementing network security, the candidate will assist with the creation, maintenance and implementation of policies and procedures, liaise with the CISO department and other security stakeholders and assist with audit process management and audit follow-up.
The engineer will have well established technical experience in Networking and Network Security, the successful candidate will co-operate with our data centre outsourcing partner and other stakeholders on a variety of security tools to manage secure and efficient data flows throughout the environment.
Ideally, the engineer will be skilled in Python and have experience with network automation tooling. The engineer will work closely with the rest of the team to ensure a supportable, expandable and fully functional environment.
To understand the complex environment, the engineer must have adequate skills across the whole Network stack, knows how a data centre operates and understands how to map business requirements to technology and solutions.
Our organization sees great value in onsite collaboration, we wish our engineers to attend the office for three days per week.
Responsibilities:
• Implement, coordinate, design and maintain Clearing’s third-party network and network security perimeter
• Develop designs, proposals, processes and procedures for the Network team
• Assist with day-to-day BAU work and escalations
• Assist with audit activities, including audit follow up and remediation activities
• Assist with common IT operation governance tasks and reporting cycles for various control streams.
• Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement network/security related projects.
• Provide technical support and escalation point for the team during troubleshooting.
• Liaise with peer teams, CISO and other stakeholders and help with the coordination of resulting activities within the team
• Demonstrate technical and organizational leadership towards improvement of setup, processes, teamwork, governance interaction and technical co-ordination with other teams
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• 7+ years of experience as a network and network security engineer, preferably in the banking or financial services industry
• Familiar with complexity and not afraid of working through complex challenges.
• Solid experience with Cisco networking equipment and protocols.
• Strong understanding of network security concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection and prevention systems
• Strong understanding of secure application design and network design to evaluate and challenge application security designs and associated traffic flows.
• Security should be part of the engineer’s approach to any task, following the idea of security by design.
• Strong sense of ownership regarding tasks and problems.
• Ability to work independently in a well-established environment respecting existing solutions and all processes.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to work in a global team across multiple timezones (UTC +8 to UTC -7).
Preferred:
• Cisco Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE
• Information Security (IS) professional qualifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CEH, CISA, CISM and CCSK
• Broad knowledge of IT and security capabilities and processes
• Stakeholder management skills, especially in a multi-cultural and international environment
• Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing, English is the preferred business language.
