Function
The Core Transactions domain at ABN AMRO is looking for a Test Manager who is passionate about quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
In this role, you will work across the domain, connecting teams, stakeholders and systems throughout the full payments chain. You will help shape our testing approach, strengthen quality assurance practices and contribute to reliable and compliant solutions that support our business and clients.
This is a role with visible impact, where your expertise helps teams grow, improve, and succeed.
Test strategy & coordination
– Define and coordinate FAT and BAT, including test cases, environments, and clear responsibilities
– Apply risk‑based testing to focus efforts where they add the most value
– Work with our vendors to evaluate and improve their testing before we get their software updates
– Coordinate end‑to‑end regression testing across teams and systems (both OPS and IT)
– Maintain and continuously improve test cases and automation assets
– Help shape and enhance the test automation strategy
Automation & quality assurance
– Oversee/coordinate both automated and manual functional and non‑functional testing
– Lead the development and updates on the automated regression tests
– Conduct quality reviews of test scenarios across teams
– Organize Retro’s and apply improvements
– Use insights and data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
– Support teams through coaching, guidance, and knowledge sharing, helping them strengthen their testing capabilities
Domain-level impact
– Work end‑to‑end across the payments chain, understanding system architecture and dependencies
– Identify risks, bottlenecks, and improvement areas early
– Contribute to improving the overall test maturity of the core transactions domain
Requirements
What you bring
We’re looking for someone who brings a combination of the following:
– Experience in test engineering and/or test management (typically around 8 years or more)
– A background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
– Strong analytical skills and a structured way of working
– Experience with test strategy and test modelling
– The ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders
– Comfort working independently while collaborating across teams and domains
– A strong proactive coordinator and great in communication.
Nice to have:
– ISTQB or comparable certification
– Experience in payments or the curiosity and motivation to learn this domain
