Function
Test engineer – Integrated Planning & Forecasting
The future of travel starts now. That is why we use data and technology to set the direction and make our airport operate ever smarter. With new digital solutions, we can, for example, better predict processes at Schiphol, so that passenger flows run smoothly and quickly. We also apply Deep Learning technology on images of our aircraft stands to provide optimal insights to handlers and airlines. This is how we give our passengers and airlines an excellent (digital) customer experience.
Business Platform Schiphol Operations
Within the Business Platform Schiphol Operations (BPSO), we aim to ensure an operational process that is predictable, controllable and efficient. Our mission is to optimise our airport operations every day using technology and data. To this end, we work on topics such as integrated planning & forecasting, building a digital twin of our airport, Turnaround Insights and Total Airport Management and data analytics. . We also ensure that existing applications used in operations are maintained and further developed. We do this in close cooperation with suppliers, our own development teams and other departments such as Data & Analytics, Operations and various platform teams within IT.
One of our products services is supporting and developing the Integrated Planning & Forecasting platform (IP&F). This IP&F platform contains several business-critical applications that help the organisation prepare and run the day of operations on the aspect of passenger flow forecasting and asset planning. The processes we support are: terminal, airside, baggage and land gate-stand (planes), busses and check-in/reclaim (baggage)side and the end-users are working on all time horizons (strategic, tactical, operational past days for analysis, today’s operation, tactical up to 1 month ahead and strategical up to years ahead). The development is done by an external partners together with an internal team consisting of business analysts, architect, information analyst, test engineer, dev-ops engineer, product owner and application management etc.
