Function
We are seeking a Senior Cyber Security DevOps Specialist to help increase the security maturity of DevOps teams across the bank. In this role, you will act as the key link between the Corporate Information Security Office (CISO) department and DevOps teams, helping to embed security into the software development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate combines strong cybersecurity expertise with the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, architects, and senior management. You are comfortable discussing technical security challenges with developers while also translating risks, priorities, and recommendations into clear business language for non-technical stakeholders.
This position is focused on security enablement, advisory and stakeholder engagement and does not involve hands-on application or software development.
You will be joining the DevOps Security team within CISO that drives the Security by Design approach, ensuring security is embedded early in the development process rather than addressed reactively. The team is responsible for defining and governing security guardrails, conducting spot checks, identifying opportunities to improve the developer journey, and collaborating with security and engineering teams to create a seamless and secure development experience.
As a senior member of the team, you will help bridge the gap between security and engineering by supporting, challenging, and guiding DevOps teams in their day-to-day security practices.
Security Enablement and Advisory (approximately 80%)
– Lead discussions and working groups with DevOps teams to identify, prioritize, and remediate security gaps.
– Act as a trusted advisor to engineering teams on secure development practices and security-related decision-making.
– Support the adoption of secure coding standards, security guardrails, and industry best practices.
– Help DevOps teams improve their security posture and overall security performance.
– Foster a strong two-way collaboration between security specialists and DevOps teams by translating security requirements into actionable guidance and channeling developer feedback back into security initiatives.
– Drive continuous improvements in the developer security experience.
Expected Outcomes
– Increase the security maturity of DevOps teams across the bank by at least 20%.
– Raise the level of technical security discussions within engineering teams and be recognized as a senior security authority.
– Improve adherence to security-by-design principles and secure software delivery practices.

Requirements
– Minimum 10 years of experience in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Risk Management, or Banking.
– Experience with or a strong understanding of software development and DevOps practices;
– Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, secure software development;
– Proven ability to connect cybersecurity risks, architecture decisions, and developer behaviors.
– Strong ability to translate complex security concepts into practical guidance for technical and non-technical audiences.
– Skilled at influencing stakeholders and driving change without formal authority.
– Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a complex organizational environment.
– Experience working in a regulated financial services environment is highly desirable.
– Previous ABN AMRO experience is preferred.
– Professional proficiency in English.
