Function

Shape resilience beyond our own boundaries
ABN AMRO increasingly depends on external providers, strategic partners and outsourced services to deliver secure, stable and innovative banking services. This reliance creates opportunities, but also introduces risks that need to be identified, understood and managed effectively.
As regulatory expectations continue to increase and the external threat landscape evolves, effective oversight of third-party and outsourcing risk has become more important than ever. Clients, regulators and society expect ABN AMRO to remain in control of the services provided by external parties and to remain resilient when disruptions occur.

This is a temporary contractor assignment for approximately 12 months, aimed at strengthening second-line oversight of third-party and outsourcing risk during a period of increased focus on operational resilience, supplier risk management and regulatory compliance.
Your role
You will be part of the Third Party & Outsourcing Risk team within the CRO IT & Cyber function of Risk Management. In this role, you provide independent oversight and challenge on the way outsourcing and third-party risks are managed throughout the lifecycle of supplier relationships. You also help strengthen our operational processes in this space through implementation and monitoring of strong controls. You engage with stakeholders across Business, Procurement, Technology, Operational Risk and Compliance functions, helping them understand and address relevant risks.

You will:
– Provide second-line oversight on third-party and outsourcing risks across the organisation;
– Review and challenge risk assessments, control frameworks and mitigation plans related to external providers;
– Assess material outsourcing arrangements and support risk-based decision making;
– Challenge the effectiveness of governance, monitoring and controls for critical and important suppliers;
– Advise stakeholders on regulatory expectations related to outsourcing, third-party risk management and operational resilience;
– Review incidents, findings and emerging risks involving external providers and assess potential impact on the bank;
– Translate complex risk topics into concise reporting and clear recommendations for management and governance forums;
– Identify trends and recurring risk themes and help drive structural improvements;
– Contribute to the continuous improvement of third-party and outsourcing risk management practices;
– Work closely with colleagues across Risk Management and support the development of the wider team.

You are able to balance independent challenge with constructive collaboration. You quickly understand complex stakeholder environments, are comfortable engaging with both subject matter experts and management, and can translate regulatory and risk requirements into practical insights.

Why join
This assignment offers the opportunity to contribute directly to one of the key risk themes on the agenda of the bank, regulators and society. You will work with a wide network of stakeholders across the organisation, provide independent challenge on decisions that matter, and help strengthen the bank’s resilience in an increasingly interconnected ecosystem.

What we offer
We offer a temporary contractor assignment of approximately 12 months, 36 hours per week, within a highly relevant and dynamic risk environment. You will contribute to strengthening the bank’s management of third-party and outsourcing risks and support the resilience of critical banking services.
