As a Technical Application Manager Interconnects, you play a crucial role in enabling a reliable and future-proof European energy system. From your expertise, you contribute directly to the stability, security, and performance of cross-border energy processes &ndash; today and in the future.<\/p> <p><strong>About TenneT, unit, department and team<\/strong><br>TenneT is Europe&rsquo;s first cross-border Transmission System Operator (TSO). With approximately 22,000 kilometers of high-voltage lines and over 41 million end-users in the Netherlands and Germany, we are among the top five grid operators in Europe.<\/p> <p>We operate a highly interconnected energy system with neighboring countries to support the North-West European energy market, integrate renewable energy, and optimize system reliability and safety. Safety &amp; Security are key values at TenneT, and we maintain high standards for both employees and contractors.<\/p> <p>You will be working in the team responsible for building, maintaining, and improving cross-border (interconnector) processes and systems. This team operates in a highly technical and mission-critical environment, supporting international energy flows and market operations.<\/p> <p><strong>The function<\/strong><br>How do you keep the Netherlands (and Europe) powered? As a Technical Application Manager Interconnects, you are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining critical applications and processes that support cross-border electricity exchange.<\/p> <p><strong>Your responsibilities include:<\/strong><br>&bull; Designing, developing, and maintaining robust cross-border processes using Ansible, focusing on performance, reliability, security, observability, and scalability<br>&bull; Containerizing and deploying workloads to Kubernetes clusters, applying best practices for CI\/CD, monitoring, certificate management, and fault tolerance<br>&bull; Implementing comprehensive test coverage (unit, integration, and system testing) to ensure quality and stability<br>&bull; Diagnosing and resolving issues in testing and production environments, with a strong focus on root cause analysis and sustainable solutions<br>&bull; Continuously improving codebases, deployment pipelines, and engineering practices<br>&bull; Actively contributing to design discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing<br>&bull; Participating in standby\/on-call rotations (approximately once every two months) for mission-critical systems<\/p> <p>In this role you act as a key technical specialist within the team and contribute to the reliability and evolution of cross-border energy systems.
