Function
ABN AMRO is seeking an experienced and proactive Integration Architect to join its Enterprise Integration Technology department. This role is crucial in shaping the future of various Integration solutions across the organization. The hired candidate will work within the API Competence Centre, contributing to innovation, standardization, and collaboration to enhance integration solutions for both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
· Architectural Guidance: Leading architectural meetings, review and approve integration architecture and specifications, promote adherence to established integration patterns as per SOA.
· Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with architectural standards and guidelines, conducting regular reviews to maintain quality and consistency across integration implementations.
· Knowledge Development: Monitor new Integration patterns and technologies (including AI), gather insights, and share findings with the Competence Centre to keep the organization updated on market developments and trends.
· Process improvements: Analyse existing processes around integration offerings and improve where possible and needed.
· Stakeholder Management: Identify key stakeholders, maintain strong relationships, understand their needs and guide them towards preferred integration solutions. Important to have strong communication, influence and negotiating skills.
Approved bank-wide integration solutions, for which the Integration architect has guided teams in the bank with her/his expertise, experience and bank integration standards.
Requirements
Required Hard skills
· Proven experience in architecture development and consultancy
· Strong knowledge of integration design principles and patterns – REST, SOAP, Events, MCP
· Experience of enabling Domain-Driven Design, and REST resource modelling
· Understanding of API Gateways, API Proxy, MCP Gateway and proxy, Event streaming/topics
· Comprehensive understanding of API artifacts (OAS, XML, WSDL) and security protocols like mTLS and OAuth
· Ability to formulate, document and enforce integration guidelines, standards, and best practices.
Required soft skills
· Effective and influential communication, ability to speak up in a senior team
· Customer empathy, wanting to understand stakeholder problem and need
· Strong negotiation skills, enabling stakeholders and keeping them accountable for high quality standards
